Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has informed the Security Council of his intention to appoint Sahle-Work Zewde of Ethiopia as the top United Nations official in the Central African Republic (CAR).

In the good old days of yore, when to haggle over purchases, small or large, was usual, and fixed pricing was a rarity or even unheard of, there was one unwritten law in the streets and alleyways of Addis and for certain in Markato.
