Draxlmaier, a leading German cable manufacturer has opened another industrial venture in Siliana, Western Tunisia. The plant was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Minister of development and international cooperation, Mr Mohamed Nouri Jouini, the Minister of industry, energy and small and medium enterprises, Mr Afif Chelbi and Mr Fritz Draxlmaier the chairman of the group's Executive Board.

Located on Djerba's western shores in the locality of Sidi Jmour, amidst a sea of palm trees, olive groves and vineyards, a new private culture and arts centre will open this summer.

The second edition of the contemporary art festival dubbed "Dream City" will take place from November 4 to 7, 2009. Far from the hackneyed and constrained representations of art, the festival whose first edition took place in 2007, will open up many locations in the Tunis Medina to the artistic shows and creations of painters, dancers, comedians,poets, filmmakers and other artists who will settle for a few days in the old city to present unusual and at times unique artistic concepts.

During a ceremony held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology on Monday, the Minister of higher education, Mr Lazhar Bououni honored a 19 year- old Tunisian student enrolled at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSAT), who invented a new mathematical demonstration of the "Bernoulli" theorem.

Tunisia which is ranked by the leading French golf tour operators' magazine "Greens du Monde" the world's 4 th golf destination, is ambitioning to become the top golfing destination for 6 million European golfers.
